Have you ever heard of dawli or the season of light? well in india its one of the biggest events of the year. Recently we have learnt about it for reading. Diwali has its own little story behind it click Here to learn about it. So every year on those same five days india and many other country's celebrate it. After we read other stories of diwali we got to make a Rangoli pattern witch they make out side there doors on the day of diwali. The hole class had two options. You could either use chalk or make you own design on paper I choose to do the chalk task in a group with two other people. We got our inspiration of google and it took us a while but we got there in the end. Because Diwali is such a colourful and bright celebration we used bright colours like orange, blue, red and a bunch of other colours.

ReplyDeleteIt’s Charlotte here (we have the same name!!) from the Summer Learning Journey.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your learning about Diwali! Also, great thinking linking that story about Diwali! Is that how you learned about it?
Your Rangoli pattern you made with your friends looks spectacular! Great job on adding a couple of photos to your blog! Why do people make the Rangoli pattern outside of their doors on the day of Diwali?
Did you know that the Summer Learning Journey began today? There is an activity you can complete there! I’m looking forward to seeing all of your learning this summer.
Ngā mihi,
Charlotte :)
