Speaches

 SO this week was speeches . And we were learning in our writing how to write a persuasive piece and write the right sort of  paragraphs for this sort of writing. Obviously we learnt how to do this because we had to say our speech in front of our class. For this task we read our cameo for this week and wrote down the things we thought were most important for our writing. Like emotive language ect. I found it very challenge to write my speech but I enjoyed  presenting it.Please comment if you like speeches or not. Matewa.

Having a growth mindset is best 

Kia ora, ni hou,Malo Lelei,and hello this is my speech about why Having a growth mindset is best

Do you know what a growth mindset is? Or Do you always know you're gonna Come first and smash everyone or know your gonna come last and don't even try in an activity? Or do you even play differently to everyone else Like having goals to reach with things you find hard and being an awesome team player? Well I firmly believe that everyone should have a Growth mindset.

First of all Having a growth mindset is much better when you are trying to Achieve  your goals. Say if I had a fixed mindset And I was trying to fly to the moon If you had a fixed mindset I would say something like “I could never do this and should just give up or instead, if I do this, I will become rich,famous and  own the world. like that's TOO big of an expectation. But if you had a growth mindset you would break it into baby steps and not worry about how famous and rich you get and only enjoy that you have achieved something that was impossible before now. 

Secondly, having a growth mindset is healthy and good for your body. I know that when you have a fixed mindset about, say Maths you become very  confused and lots of pressure is put on you. Sometimes you can even end up throwing a tantrum not just at home but at school too.And I When you do this you're stressed and it is not good for you body and everyone else around you to listen to.

Lastly, having a growth mindset makes everybody happy. You may be wondering how having a growth mindset makes people happy? Well it is very simple. When you have a growth mindset your happy and you bring a good mood . Which is what everybody wants. SO when your happy it makes other people smile

So I think Everybody should strive for a growth mindset because it helps achieve your goals,Makes your brain healthy and puts you and other people in a good mood. I have one question before I leave: what sort of mindset do you think I have?

Do you have or write in a journal? Well one of our tasks a few days ago was to make a copy of a slide show that has ten awesome activities to do each day. This will update frequently so come to everyday if you please and look to see what I have updated. This Is going to be really fun to work on because I don’t have a journal at home. Do you Compost?

Today we were learning about why composting is good and we had to end up writing a report about it. For this task we had to watch an interesting video on composting, Then we had to read two books that were also about composting. I found it fun and easy to write my plan. But I also found it challenging to write my key words into paragraphs. Please in the comments say If you have a compost or how many you have. Here is my writing  

 Composting

Why do we compost? This information report Should tell you what it is how it is made and what the benefits of it are .

What is it ?

A compost bin is a wood, plastic or sometimes metal bin that holds bugs, green waste , brown waste that makes healthy soil. We use this composting bin to create compost from the kitchen and house waste that you might just throwaway. The compost bin has two jobs, it recycles waste and creates a product that you can use back in your garden because plants love this and it helps feed them to make more food that you can use back in your kitchen!. 

How is it made?

When throwing your green and brown waste into a compost bin it actually goes through a big cycle. First when you throw your waste away you make layers, Those layers then decompose. Worms and other helpful bugs eat the green and brown waste which when it comes out the other end it has been broken down and they keep doing that over and over again till it is mostly all soil. When all the waste has decomposed and has turned into healthy nutritious soil. People put it back in their gardens to help the plants grow healthy and strong, this makes them happy and colourful.

What are the benefits of composting?

Everybody has waste, but not everybody has compost. If you are one of these people you should consider getting a compost because first you save money not having to pay to dump it.. Second It’s really good for your plants and the environment. And lastly it's just amazing healthy soil which keeps our worms happy!

Conclusion

There are only good reasons to have your own compost And if you do it right there are no yucky smells to it. I think everybody should make a compost to do your part to lessen the amount of waste that goes out into the environment from your consumption.

A poem about my tongue

 At the start of every week our class starts different types of writing with a different focus. This week our focus was writing a poem about our favorite body parts.  I had a hard time with planning and on deciding what my best body part was because I love all my body parts because they are all useful.  I really enjoyed writing my poem  more than I expected to. I have never written a poem before and have especially never written one about my favorite body part. 

When most of us finished our poems the teacher made them black and white and put them on our photo and media page. We all put our black and white photos on the slide that the teacher made for everyone and we added a black and white background to match. 

The next day when we walked into class our poems were hanging up on the ceiling and everyone was looking for theirs. This is how we created our poems! I would be interested to hear your comments about whether you have written a poem before and what was it about ? 

Week two writing

Last week for writing we our WALHT was adding detail and being REALLY descriptive with our writing. It was really hard for me because the picture to me was a little bit hard to describe.Because in my opinion Fantasy is way easier to right  because its your own imaganagine.Well here's my writing for week two! 

Little tropical Island

I stood on the end of a  rough and unstable Island the Island may look beautiful but you were still greeted with the smell of gresy fuel from the flesh coloured diving boat.Gazing at cliffs makes me nerves because it takes less than a second to fall...Little rocky peoples fell down in groups I turn my head away hoping for something else to distract me.The ocean looks so blue clear and big you could fit a hole city in it.Listing carefully to the deep breeze. It blew so hard that it almost felt like little action figures inside of my ears  with their little plastic swords. Crashing against the tiny island were mini tsunamis .They  managed to wet my toes and soak my my sock.The clear viridescent water hits my face.It started to sting after a while.the she ice cold air hit my leg  It sent a shiver up my spine.Still standing on the mini Iland .The poliny fragrance  from the bushes across the lake went up my nose and tickled it then made its way down and landed on my tongue.

My unique bedroom writing

 This week for writing our focus was adding detail and being really descriptive. The hole class had to write about there bedroom. Everyone had amazing ideas. And I love this topic because I love my bedroom and I can describe it really easily.

We sit on the mat in a big circle every monday and have a week or longer to write out stories. When we sit on the mat we get given a plan and then we have to put down all our idea's and write our plan in about 40m. This is my writing about my unique bedroom. I hope you like it.

My Unique Bedroom

The best bit of the house is my unique bedroom and the best bit is the view. You can see some of the valley through the tiny rectangular window. I love it.

My bedroom is small and rectangle. I have my bed on one side and my dressing table on the other. When I'm alone I constantly play video games.

If you were to look at my brother's room it's messy. LIKE REALLY MESSY! But when it comes to my bedroom it's tidy with clean and dirty clothes on the side. But it's clean and refreshing after a long day of work. I  like to lie there and take in the fragrances from the plants outside. I love my small unique bedroom and I am very lucky to have it. It's  definitely the best room in the house.

Giant Panda report

 Today I was learning about how to wright a report and to use paragraphs.We started on a giant panda report as a class then we moved on to sea creatures go look at that post .

My new learning was about how to do report writing the right way.We have been doing that for most of the week and were still doing it!

I enjoyed it because I really like animals and I loved to edit my work.When I do wright my Giant Panda report down on my chromebook I try to make sure that I have good interesting facts. 

I found it challenging to get all the keywords down and putting them into long sentences.I also found it hard to make sure that I have interesting enough fact to hook the readers into my work because everyone likes a little cool facts right .

My report on stingrays!

Today I was learning how to write a report and to use subheadings.

I enjoyed publishing and editing on my chromebook.

I found it challenging to find the good facts and information. 

My digital learning object shows that i've learning about Stingrays and that I can insert a doc into my blog.

Next time I would try to extend my sentences in my report.
