Kick Start/ The day in the life of a stickman

This activity has probably been my favourite so far. Why because when it comes to drawing my isn't very good so the only thing I can make look perfect is something simple. And stickmen are the most simplest thing you can get if you draw a person. A circle and lines. For this activity we had to draw a stickman doing different activities we had to fill the HOLE page. 

What I liked about this task is that I could make the stickman do things I like to do like skateboarding and walking a dog. Though what I did find challenging about this activity was thinking about what actions to draw and filling up the whole page. 

While I made this post I thought about how I could make it more interesting. Then I thought about it being the day  in the life of a stickman. So read through it and see what my stick man does everyday!

Kick Start ,Found Sound

 Kia ora, For today's kick start we have been learning about making music out of weird and wonderful things like chippy packets, cups and random things you find everywhere. When I was thinking of some items I could use I just walked around my room to see if I could find something. I found a ruler, dartboard and darts, cup, pen and an old race car I don't use anymore. At first I didn't really know what to play but then I figured something out. Try to guess if you know what I played, even repeat the video if you need to.

I really enjoyed this task because I am a musician myself. I play the ukulele. So when I found this task I was very excited  and was busting to get into it. Though I found it challenging to get everything in the camera and found it hard to think of what to use for the video.  Again Comment if you Found out what song I was playing. Matewa.

Kick Start Magic Math

Mornea, Today I am posting on another kick start. This kick start is on Magic Math. So for this task we had to make a copy of a slide template that had three math questions on where all of them would land on a certain number 5,6 or 10. I got my mum to do all of them and she did them really fast. We both had our minds blown once we figured out all of the answers would be the 5,6 or ten.

This task actually taught me how to divide by sign on my keyboard .I really enjoyed this activity because I got to see how fast my mum could work out math problems and got to learn new things. Though what I found challenging was having to type all my mums working. Please comment if you are surprised two about this activity and what you like more  math or magic?

Kick Start

Today I started my second summer learning project. My task that I chose was How to make a forced perspective image. This part of the project its called the kick start. It is the simpler  side of the task but there is another side of the task where you have to make a video using wevideo, Screencastify, Ect to explain how you made the images. Before we took the images we watched a video to get a better understanding of it. So From that video I learnt that with making the images it is all about making something that's small big or something that's big small. 

I really enjoyed this activity because I love taking photos And I do It all the time with my nanna. But I also found it challenging to get my objects in piston because I had know one to help me. So I just ended up getting shoes and pillows to stabilise them. And shout out to Mum who also help me!

Step It Up

 This post is the second part on my activity which is the step it up task. The step it up task Is more challenging then the first one I did which was the christmas decoration. For this new and Very challenging task we had to choose a hero/Idle I chose sky brown. I chose sky because she is one of the best kid skaters in the whole world. And have won a bronze medal for team Britain. But she's not just my idol because of that. I chose her because she is a brave,Kind, Inspiring person and she tries to get more girls to skate. Which has also made me wanna skateboard to which I do now.

Now onto what we did in the activity. First we had to polyline our hero then find an inspiring quote that our hero has made Then of course post it to our blog. This task got very hard when it got to the eyes because I just could not get the shape right and the nose was also very challenging but it still looks great And I am very proud and that's all that matters. Kick Start

 Today I have been working hard on my Summer learning journey task. We were learning about the difference between vector art and Raster art. Firstly  Raster art are pictures made up of tiny little pixels/Squares that you can't see until you zoom in. But when you zoom in the quality of the picture gets lower. But Vecture art is not made of tiny pixels and when you zoom in everything stays the same and it all looks better. After we watched the video for our kick start activity we had to make a christmas decoration or if you don't celebrate christmas then make a decoration for you house. In the decorations we Had to put something like how your family is unique Ect. 

I had a difficult time thinking of what to put on mine but after a while I finally came up with the idea of putting a stag in a circle ball becuase my family are outside a lot so It resembles nature and christmas. Diwali

 Have you ever heard of  dawli or the season of light? well in india its one of the biggest events of the year. Recently we have learnt about it for reading. Diwali has its own little story behind it click Here to learn about it. So every year on those same five days india and many other country's celebrate it. After we read other stories of diwali we got to make a Rangoli pattern witch they make out side there doors on the day of diwali. The hole class had two options. You could either use chalk or make you own design on paper I choose to do the chalk task in a group with two other people. We got our inspiration of google and it took us a while but we got there in the end. Because Diwali is such a colourful and bright celebration  we used bright colours like orange,blue,red and a bunch of other colours.  

Calendar art!

In my school every year in every class we do something called calendar art were every class makes some very cool art and when there finished our parents can bye them as a calendar,sketchbook,mouse pad and more. For our class is was also sort of based on our maths to, geometric shapes. And with our geometric shapes we put them into NZ native birds . This was a long process of drawing ,colouring ,dying and gluing pieces of crate paper on them. My favorite bit for this was choosing the native bird I chose a weka. The hardest part for me was drawing all the triangles into the bird and shading the colours but other then that I found it all easy and hope to do it again. Rongora

 This week for our shared reading we have been learning about maori medicinal plants. For this activity we have to read a few books about many medical plants. it wasn't long before most of us started our create. for our create we had to make a sign with a barcode (witch was optional) with some fact of there chosen plant on it there were at least  10 there to choose from  Because there were so many to choose from I had a hard time deciding. But over my decision was Manuka becuase it smells nice and when you think about it It's actually really helpful. I really enjoyed painting the sign but next time I would try a different plant becuase why not try find facts for all of them.

Portrait art

This week for our art. We were doing a very hard sort of art , Portrait art. Before we actually started our art my teacher showed us some of the art she made which looked very good. To start off with, we had to take a photo and trace the lines with a sharpie very carefully. Then this is what I thought was the hardest part was mixing colours to match your skin colour and this was the learning focus and what I thought was the hardest part. When we mixed the all the colours together the colours we used was yellow white and red and If you had a darker skin colour you would use a little bit of black. My favourite bit for this art was sketching the out lines on my shirt, face and hair. Please comment what you liked about my house  and if you think I got close to my actual face.

My 2021 Achievements

 Lots of the learning we have been doing this week has been on Canva. Before we did the fun bit of the task we were learning some cool tricks that you could use on your presentation like shaping your video and lots more.when we started on our slides  We have to choose a video template or we wouldn't have been able to put our starting video on there.

Onto our creation, for it we had to make three slides to fit three school achievements on it. Each slide had to look cool and the pictures had to relate to your achievements. I Liked this activity a lot because all the pictures on canva make you want to replay the slide show over and over again. But when it came to writing all the subheadings they slowed me down a bit. if or when you comment, add what you think I did well with my presentation and  what you liked about it.

Using Canva

Have you used Canva before? Well for our RE this week we had a new focus we were learning about, service. For this task we have also learnt how to use Canva which has made this project even better Because it brightens our posters up and you can make it very eye-catching. After we logged into canva we had to choose a template and write service somewhere on the page so we knew what it poster was about. After we chose our template we had to add on the poster what  service looks like, sounds like, and feels like.

 I think I have successfully completed my poster and I really like it. But I did find it challenging to write in what service feels like. Please comment on what you like about my poster. Matewa

Beatitudes

 This week was social justice and we were learning about the beatitudes. We chose a quote from one of the beatitudes and made a poster with the quote and eye-catching colours and pictures. I really enjoyed this activity because I have never in my life heard of the beatitudes and I found it challenging to  choose which saying to choose because there were SO MANY! To choose from. Speaches

 SO this week was speeches . And we were learning in our writing how to write a persuasive piece and write the right sort of  paragraphs for this sort of writing. Obviously we learnt how to do this because we had to say our speech in front of our class. For this task we read our cameo for this week and wrote down the things we thought were most important for our writing. Like emotive language ect. I found it very challenge to write my speech but I enjoyed  presenting it.Please comment if you like speeches or not. Matewa.

Having a growth mindset is best

Do you know what a growth mindset is? Or Do you always know you're gonna Come first and smash everyone or know your gonna come last and don't even try in an activity? Or do you even play differently to everyone else Like having goals to reach with things you find hard and being an awesome team player? Well I firmly believe that everyone should have a Growth mindset.

First of all Having a growth mindset is much better when you are trying to Achieve  your goals. Say if I had a fixed mindset And I was trying to fly to the moon If you had a fixed mindset I would say something like “I could never do this and should just give up or instead, if I do this, I will become rich,famous and  own the world. like that's TOO big of an expectation. But if you had a growth mindset you would break it into baby steps and not worry about how famous and rich you get and only enjoy that you have achieved something that was impossible before now. 

Secondly, having a growth mindset is healthy and good for your body. I know that when you have a fixed mindset about, say Maths you become very  confused and lots of pressure is put on you. Sometimes you can even end up throwing a tantrum not just at home but at school too.And I When you do this you're stressed and it is not good for you body and everyone else around you to listen to.

Lastly, having a growth mindset makes everybody happy. You may be wondering how having a growth mindset makes people happy? Well it is very simple. When you have a growth mindset your happy and you bring a good mood . Which is what everybody wants. SO when your happy it makes other people smile

So I think Everybody should strive for a growth mindset because it helps achieve your goals,Makes your brain healthy and puts you and other people in a good mood. I have one question before I leave: what sort of mindset do you think I have?

Is mr wolf guilty?

 I am sure you have heard of the childhood story about a little red riding hood. Do you think Mr Wolf is guilty or do you think he is innocent. This week we have written a persuasive piece of why we think Mr Wolf is guilty and not guilty. I thought he was guilty. For this task has kind of merged between reading and writing. For our reading we had to write our plan on our chromebook.I found this really fun because the hole class had different opinions. I found it challenging to write my plan because I never really thought if he was guilty or not. We are writing in persuasive because speeches are coming up and are learning how to structure it. LEGO!

Do you have lego?I have LOTS of it. One of today's tasks was about lego and the history behind it. It was SO interesting I will link the videos at the end. For this task we watched the videos and dove deep into when lego was first created. After we had watched the video we got to do the fun stuff, choose our lego challenge and build it. I chose to make a bridge, And this took ages for me because I wanted to make a Big bridge. On the up side it looked cool but on the down side I was very tired. I wanted my bridge to look unique so for my river underneath instead of drawing or just adding a flat boring rivier I chose to dig out all of the blue blocks I could find in my lego box and added two sharks and a jet boat. Saint Joseph

 Today For RE we had to draw our school saint (which was for each house colour). Mine is Saint Joseph. Before we got onto the fun stuff we looked at a slide that had all of the school saints on it which told us what they were the patron saints of. I really liked this task because I like drawing /making things on google drawings. I found it challenging to get everything to look human like and it took me multiple time’s to draw the robe and hat. One of the last things we had to do was to add speech bubbles witch answered the questions that the teacher asked us to answer. Please comment on what I did and what you  think I could change.

Some words you can learn in tongan

 One of today's tasks was about tonga because it tongan language week.For this task we had to watch a video teaching us some easy tongan words. Our create was to make a slideshow teaching you some easy tongan words. I really enjoyed learning some new tongan words. Though I already knew how to say Hello because during the role we say hello in different languages. One new thing I learnt was to add a voice recording of me saying the words but I found that very difficult. Please comment if you already know some of these and some that I could maybe add on. Sea Turtles

Sea turtles are very cool creatures and we have been learning and researching about them. I found some very cool facts like did you know that Sea turtles are omnivores? Well if you don't know that you may not know most of the facts on my poster. One other thing we had to do for this task we had to draw a sea turtle but we watched a video to help us. I really enjoyed making the poster and drawing the turtle though I struggled to find interesting facts. Please comment if you like my poster and drawing.

The Escape Room

 The escape room. This week there was a special task made by one of our students, Kylah. I really enjoyed playing her escape room because it was based on many different subjects: math,reading and some riddles. In her escape room there were creatures hiding everywhere and there were many different species like spiders,birds,snakes etc. I really enjoyed Kylahs escape room and she has really inspired me. Though I found it challenging to move around in the game. Here is some of the animals I found in the escape room 

Cats Vs Dogs

 Today’s task was a fun task about cats and dogs. For this task we had to choose sides. I found this hard because I love both pets and they are both very cute. Before we started we watched a video about our anima and collected information for why we think they are better but there was a twist to it we had to do both sides of the argument and put down why they were better. going to be a main template to help us right now with persuasive peace. The teacher asked us to highlight which animal we were going to be doing in our persuasive piece. I enjoyed this because I love cats and dogs but I also found it hard to choose between them. More fun science

Today we were tasked with two science experiments.  But I didn't have some of the material for one of them so I just did the pepper and dishwashing soap experiment. For this task we had to watch a video and follow the instructions. Our instructions were to get some pepper,dishwashing liquid, a plate and some water. Here's how you do this experiment

First you get a plate and put some water on it, not more than the rim. secondly you sprinkle pepper over all of the water. Touch it once then put your finger in the dishwashing liquid and place your finger in the water again. What happened the first time? And then what happened last? Paralympics

 Have you been watching the Paralympics? The Paralympics has now started and that means we will start researching it and writing about it. I am very excited about it because I like the athletes because you may think the olympians are amazing, They are But paralympians have disabilities which makes it twice as hard. Which is amazing. We had a task today which was to make some slides about it. I found it hard to rewrite the sentences onto my slides But I really liked researching them. Taskmaster ll

 Do you watch taskmaster? Well our teachers have made some taskmaster tasks to do with our family. Sadly I didn't do all the tasks because I din't have the materials. But that didn't stop me trying to do the easy tasks. One of the Tasks was to blind fold one of you team mates and try to draw a mountain with snow birds and three trees. I found it very difficult to direct my mum to where she needed to draw but I enjoyed looking at it when it was done. Another task was to make a Origami cup and spot the difference. I really liked this activity because I am good at origami because I used to have a Japanese friend that did a lot of origami. I found it very easy to find the differences and make the 6 step cup and for more colour I added some designs. Comment if you like to make origami objects. Matewa

Wellbeing

 Another one of today's tasks was about wellbeing. If you don’t know what wellbeing is it's a feeling of being happy and healthy. For this task we had to roll a fake dice from youtube and roll it three times. We had to choose an activity from our numbers and take a photo. I enjoyed this task because I had to get my chromebook and do star jump,burpees ect. I found it challenging to do burpees because I'm not very good at them. Please comment if you think I did well. Our month Refection

 It's coming to the end of august. This is when we reflect on the month and think hard about what we enjoyed, did and didn't really like about the learning. Most of the month we have been in lockdown so most of our learning has been online. For this task we had to make a copy of the template then write in everything and answer all the questions in the boxes. I like reflecting on my learning because you can set new goals and look at what you achieved. Maybe you could start reflecting on your own school work and what new goals you can set. Saints

 Today for RE we have been learning about saints. We had to go on a jambord and name all the saints we know. Then we had to choose one saint to research and answer about 5 questions. Our options were to make some slides, a wevideo or an animation I chose to make a wevideo. I love making Wevideos because they are very unique and you can add music to them. Scratch Cicadas

 Morena, Did you know that there are more than  3,000 species of cicadas? Well If you know what scratch is its a coding website that teaches you to code I will link it at the end. We had many task to choose from but I chose a scratch task, In this task we had to make our animal jump over objects. My animal was a cicada, But there were know cicada charters so I had to use a Dragonfly. The thing that help me with this was a youtube tutorial that the teachers linked for us.  I found it very challenging to make the objects move but really enjoy the coding side of it. 2D shapes

Do you know all your angles and shapes? Before lockdown we were learning about shapes and angles to remember of bye heart. Now our teachers linked a video for us two watch and make some of our own 2D shapes out of paper. I made a pyramid. I found this task REALLY hard! And got my mum to help me. Plastic Free Challenge

 I have been learning about Why we should be Plastic free and The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. If you don’t know that place, it's a big bit of the ocean that is filled with our rubbish. It's terrible. So we read a book made by room five from Motueka South School. When I got on to making my slides I wanted to make them to make people think about how they could make a change. I really enjoyed this task because the topic has been a problem I have always thought of and one I wanted to change. I found it quite challenging to put the facts into my own words. We have been learning about what happens when you put baking soda and vinegar together. Before we did the experiment we watched a  video  on it and it told us how to do everything. When I did the experiment it took a while to work and fizzed up at the bottom what I wonder if it will do the same it you try it? If you tried the experiment tell me in the comments how it went. Nature art

 Do you know who andy Goldsworthy is? We have learnt about Nature art Inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. After we had watched a video about him and his art we had the challenge to make our own Nature art . At the time I was thinking about maori culture , so I decided that I wanted to make a koru. I gathered up some different coloured stones and  got to work. At the time I found it tricky to get the shape of the koru right, But I really enjoyed it at the same time. Do you Compost?

Today we were learning about why composting is good and we had to end up writing a report about it. For this task we had to watch an interesting video on composting, Then we had to read two books that were also about composting. I found it fun and easy to write my plan. But I also found it challenging to write my key words into paragraphs. Please in the comments say If you have a compost or how many you have. Here is my writing  

 Composting

Why do we compost? This information report Should tell you what it is how it is made and what the benefits of it are .

What is it ?

A compost bin is a wood, plastic or sometimes metal bin that holds bugs, green waste , brown waste that makes healthy soil. We use this composting bin to create compost from the kitchen and house waste that you might just throwaway. The compost bin has two jobs, it recycles waste and creates a product that you can use back in your garden because plants love this and it helps feed them to make more food that you can use back in your kitchen!. 

How is it made?

When throwing your green and brown waste into a compost bin it actually goes through a big cycle. First when you throw your waste away you make layers, Those layers then decompose. Worms and other helpful bugs eat the green and brown waste which when it comes out the other end it has been broken down and they keep doing that over and over again till it is mostly all soil. When all the waste has decomposed and has turned into healthy nutritious soil. People put it back in their gardens to help the plants grow healthy and strong, this makes them happy and colourful.

What are the benefits of composting?

Everybody has waste, but not everybody has compost. If you are one of these people you should consider getting a compost because first you save money not having to pay to dump it.. Second It’s really good for your plants and the environment. And lastly it's just amazing healthy soil which keeps our worms happy!

Conclusion

There are only good reasons to have your own compost And if you do it right there are no yucky smells to it. I think everybody should make a compost to do your part to lessen the amount of waste that goes out into the environment from your consumption.

The Magic Jawbone

 I'm sure most of you reading this have watched or heard of Maui the Maori legend. We  watched a video on how he found his mother and father after we the    the  create was to either draw,Make a digital or lego Jawbone,Wood pigeon or stop motion video. I found it challenging to draw the maori patterns inside of the hook and draw the shape of the jawbone. Please comment if you like my jawbone and if you think it's good . Here's my picture.

Night Time

 Have you seen a real life ruru before? Because of the lockdown our teachers wanted us to get outside and get active so they made a poster of a bunch of things we could do outside and one of them was to go outside at night with a torch and explore. I live on a farm so We have lots of property to explore. I loved going out there tonight with all the fresh air around me and I got to show other people a ruru (Morepork
). I found it hard to shine the light on the ruru and record at the same time. Please tell me if my video was cool and if I showed you a ruru for the first time heres the video.

Eels

Our second task for today was to answer questions. You're probably wondering what questions I am answering . Well I am Answering questions about native animals. We got to choose our Native
New Zealand animal. I chose an eel.When It comes to these slippery and slimy creatures there are actually a lot you don't know about them like did you know that there are only two breeds of eel in New Zealand: the short fin and long fin eel.

Cats and Dogs

 Do you have a cat or dog? Well This blog post is especially for people who love cats and dogs. We were learning how to apply Knowledge which is collecting facts and sharing them like on a poster or ad mabey. During my learning we had to pick our grade of reading and read a book about the topic we had. My topic was cats and dogs. I found it really fun and easy finding some facts to put on my poster, But I also found it hard to fit everything onto my slides because they were pretty long sentences. Minecraft Habitats

Because of level four lockdown we had to go back to online learning. For our online learning our teachers have made it fun and has us to doing tasks.One of our tasks is to make a animal habitat with food and what sort of environment it lives in. I did multiple habitats. I found it really fun making animal habitats because I love animals and the way they live. I found it difficult to take the screenshots of the habitats, But I manged to problem solve and find out how to do it. Mary The Mother Of Jesus

 Have you used word cloud before? Today I used it for the first time to describe mary. Today I zoomed through all my tasks for task master. Taskmaster is  an activity we do daily because of our three day lockdown. Our Third task for today was to go onto word cloud and describe Mary the mother of Jesus using single words. For this activity I enjoyed using a new app, but since this was my first time it was challenging to find out where everything was. My homemade prayer space

Because of the country's three day lock down we cant go to school and do our morning prayers. So yesterday at our last zoom call the teacher said to our own prayer space ready for tomorrow. So I put my hands together and went for a search around the house to find some stuff to put on my prayer table. On my prayer table I had a candle to represent the light of Jesus Cloth to resemble ordinary time  an Animal figure for gods Creation along with a stag antler and owl light, Rosary bead necklace and Last but not least some fairy lights and  stones.You could say that it is very Nature themed and I agree but, I also think It resembles everything you could name about christ.

It was quite Challenging for me to find things that we fit to put on the prayer table because I don't usually pray at home. But I enjoyed making it look pretty and showing it to the class. Please comment on what you think of my prayer table and what you think I could add.

Come learn about bees

 Do you not know enough about bees? Here are five facts to boost your knowledge about bees. During our learning about bees we were learning about how to summarize but straight after I finished the summarizing project I started straight on the extra for experts. We had to read with the teacher and read some other books about bees which I will link at the end. 

I enjoyed adding the little bees and flower to my slide. But I found it challenging to get all the facts to fit on the page. Comment If you learnt anything new about bees.

Camouflage

 Because of our three day lock down, our teachers have organised some activities for us to do. Today's activity was to be camouflaged, then to reveal ourselves. If we disguised as the animal we have been researching about, we got extra points on our class dojo . I have been Researching about deer also known as Cervidae.

I watched a video about other people being camouflaged (I will share the link). I wanted the extra dojo points!  I got out an old painting of a stag,  I hid behind the painting leaning against the wall, and Boom I have an easy video of me and the painting. It was challenging to get my body in the right position to make sure you couldn't see my body. But here is my video of me being camouflage. Camouflage vid

Do you think robots will take over the world or do you think that they are kind and friendly and would help out the world. Lots of people have different mind sets about AI Artificial intelligence. This week we have been watching and reading about AI .We learnt this because we could be able to put it into our writing. I found this task really easy but really interesting at the same time. There was one thing that was challenging though it was brainstorming some problems that I could make a robot for . We made some slides about what problems there are that we want to fix. We had to choose one and make a robot on google drawings  or on paper. So can you  comment on any ideas you think I should add to my robot?

Bee Themed?

 This week our focus for mostly everything is Bees. Our reading task this week is summarizing a book about bees. This week our teacher set up our summarizing page so that we could write everything down and post it two our blog in two days. We learnt about this because we did an experiment on bees to see how they picked up pollen.This activity wasn't the easiest because at the start I never really understood summarizing but this time I really started to understand it.  It would be really helpful it you could comment on this blog post and tell me what I have done well. Art Representing Japan

 Do you know what a Pagoda is? Or do you know why cherry blossoms are so important to Japan? and If  don't know I can tell you facts and information about these things and why we did this artwork. So first of all we did this artwork because of the Olympics in Japan. For our learn create share we had to  learn about their flag. Like you mite not have knew that the red dot on the Japanese flag is the rising sun.

Earlier I was talking about a Pagoda for those of you who don't know what it is  it's a Religious building that people use for religious purposes. They are a big part of Asia (and Japan) because they are a very sacred place. Japanese people like cherry blossoms because it represents the start of new things. And people go and have picnics when they start to bloom.

Tons of facts about Japan

 As you should know ,The Olympic games has been on and Is held in Japan. So we decided that we would learn about the games. We have been researching and reading books about Japan to put on our slides.These slides have to be Japanese themed. There were lots of slides to choose from that we had to pick for our topics. We had to choose 4 to 6 slides and add about 3 to 6 facts for that topic which is Japan based.I think our task this week was Challenging because we had to put them into big sentences or paragraphs, not short sharp facts. 

Have you ever been to the Olympics?

 You should know that the Olympics are on and are being hosted in Tokyo. So we have been learning about it and have been researching and reading interesting stories about the Olympics .

This reading task has been very changeling because my goal was to get five facts down on every slide and I did do that but I have been work after school and in my own time to get it done.I loved learning about the Olympics because I am competitive in my sports that I play and I love it because It's a worldwide challenge and we get to join in.

Did you know that before gold was first place it was silver ? Or did you know that the first modern Olympic games were in 1896? There are so facts about the Olympics. A poem about my tongue

 At the start of every week our class starts different types of writing with a different focus. This week our focus was writing a poem about our favorite body parts.  I had a hard time with planning and on deciding what my best body part was because I love all my body parts because they are all useful.  I really enjoyed writing my poem  more than I expected to. I have never written a poem before and have especially never written one about my favorite body part. 

When most of us finished our poems the teacher made them black and white and put them on our photo and media page. We all put our black and white photos on the slide that the teacher made for everyone and we added a black and white background to match. 

The next day when we walked into class our poems were hanging up on the ceiling and everyone was looking for theirs. This is how we created our poems! I would be interested to hear your comments about whether you have written a poem before and what was it about ? 

How high will it fly?

 Today we're doing some crazy science we are learning how to use a Aqua pod. I think the Aqua pod will go at least 5 or 6 meters high because I seen people do it before I think  if we do the same thing it will work. So it turned out if did go about the height I guessed let me walk you through the steps we used to make the aqua pod go flying. Do you know what a Aqua pod is? It's basically a orange launch pad for the bottle and something for the pump to connect to.

Firstly you have to fill your bottle (with water) to about 1/3  then you get the aqua pod and tip it upside down so the the water wouldn't spill when you screw the bottle onto the valve. There is a black rubber seal on the valve to stop the water from leaking and dripping.

Secondly you have to connect the  pump to anthor valve and pump it eight times. Then you pull the string and with the pressure for the air that had been pumped into the bottle it make it blast of into the sky. And that's what we did with our Aquapod here's a photo of it.

Not your normal sort of golf

This week we have been learning how to find area and perimeter. This is new to me so it was hard to understand it at first but after we watched a video called How to Find Area and Perimeter I started to understand. After we watched the video our teacher showed us where and how to make the golf course.

I found it really easy because Miss Hickling labeled everything out for us so we could drag and then measure the grass blocks. I didn't really find it hard but it was sort of difficult to understand how to add the measurements. I enjoyed putting the obstacles on the golf course to make it look cool.

Matariki Scratch

 Today we were using Scratch.If you don't know what Scratch is Its a game that teaches kids how to code .It is the time of Matariki so we made a little story of a charter that meets the seven sisters.Its was quite difficult to me because I have never used Scratch before and I don't do much coding but I guess thats what Scratch is for .I really enjoyed choosing my charters and making a little story on they and exploring something new. I am hoping to get my sprite to meet and learn about all the seven sisters and about the history. 

Home Learning book competition!

Hello bloggers. I’m sure your school has homework books but does your school have a customizing competition for the home learning book? Well this week for art we were learning how to shade. When they were announcing that the competition was coming up I was really excited. So our teacher got us to get a scrap piece of paper and we practiced lots of different shading.

When It comes to the real thing, not the draft I was really proud and confident about it because it had lots of things to do with school like our house colours and the school logo. If your school does these sorts of competitions, tell me about it in the comments.

Samoan Language week is here

Hello.This week and last week we have been learning about tattoos of samoan culture because last week it was samoan language week.The first week we got the learn create share we had to read a online book called man at sea then we we read with the teacher we read  a book called ancestors then we had to watch the two videos.Then we had to write a synthesis firstly about what we had already known.I will link the online book and videos so you can learn about the samoan tattoos to.I really enjoyed learning about the samoan tattoos and hope to learn more about other cultures.It was kind of hard to write the last bit of the  synthesis because I have never wrote won before.And next time I will try add more information about it.If you know something about salmon culture fell free to comment about it.

Come Learn about Covnet!

Hello! Today I was learning about covenant. This cool slide show will tell and show you about covenant. Covenant Is Sort of like an agreement but it's not, its a special promise. When God made people they left his side so God choose four people Abraham, King David, Noah and Issac. I will leave it there for now because you will learn more in the show. I really enjoyed making this slideshow because I love to be creative and make cool things like this. I found it challenging to make the song because it was quite hard to get words that sounds good with the other words. Next time I would change the song because it didn't rhyme! I mean not all songs rhyme but I want mine to rhyme. Well I hope you like my slideshow. Enjoy!

We have been learning about Abraham & Sarah and how God promised them babies.They were really old but to have a baby they had to wait 20 years. So we had to choose an activity then post it to out blogs, but our team did a play so we had to edit it on Wevideo.To be honest I didn't really like how it went but I just edited it to make it a little bit better. It was difficult for me because I had to memorise my parts. Have you use we video before? Well, if you havent I will link it at the bottom. It's really handy and quilty. Week two writing

Last week for writing we our WALHT was adding detail and being REALLY descriptive with our writing. It was really hard for me because the picture to me was a little bit hard to describe.Because in my opinion Fantasy is way easier to right  because its your own imaganagine.Well here's my writing for week two! 

Little tropical Island

I stood on the end of a  rough and unstable Island the Island may look beautiful but you were still greeted with the smell of gresy fuel from the flesh coloured diving boat.Gazing at cliffs makes me nerves because it takes less than a second to fall...Little rocky peoples fell down in groups I turn my head away hoping for something else to distract me.The ocean looks so blue clear and big you could fit a hole city in it.Listing carefully to the deep breeze. It blew so hard that it almost felt like little action figures inside of my ears  with their little plastic swords. Crashing against the tiny island were mini tsunamis .They  managed to wet my toes and soak my my sock.The clear viridescent water hits my face.It started to sting after a while.the she ice cold air hit my leg  It sent a shiver up my spine.Still standing on the mini Iland .The poliny fragrance  from the bushes across the lake went up my nose and tickled it then made its way down and landed on my tongue.

Do You know anyone from WW1

Our learn create share for Week 1 was we were learning about World War 1 and 2. At the start of the year we Reading Book called When We Were Warriors.Then the teacher made our next learn create share about it.We learnt about this because it's a really interesting topic and it was a worldwide crisis.

Signing My Name in Sign language

Last week was New Zealand sign language week.For sign language week week we had to learn some sign language  then sign our name.I was hard to learn a hole new language but it was fun at the same time. Watch this video to see me sign my name in sign language.

Mothers day cards

Last week we made mothers day cards mothers day .In the process of making it we had to get a skewer and poke THE PERFECT sized holes.Then after that we had to get our skewer and some string and thread the string through the holes.It was quite difficate to me because I ripped mine twice but I did mange to fix it.But other then the rip I really enjoyed making mothers day cards here is mine.

Past,Present,Future

 Today for cybersmart we learnt that using other peoples pictures, Google backgrounds ect is like stealing so we had to delete the stuff we had and make our profile us by taking a responsible photo and putting out background as normal. After that  we had to copy slides Mrs Torrie  made.Then we had to insert picture of the newer version of the olden day thing.It was quite hard finding the perfect thing  but we got there in the end.Next time I would change and think of more unique items.  

My unique bedroom writing

 This week for writing our focus was adding detail and being really descriptive. The hole class had to write about there bedroom. Everyone had amazing ideas. And I love this topic because I love my bedroom and I can describe it really easily.

We sit on the mat in a big circle every monday and have a week or longer to write out stories. When we sit on the mat we get given a plan and then we have to put down all our idea's and write our plan in about 40m. This is my writing about my unique bedroom. I hope you like it.

My Unique Bedroom

The best bit of the house is my unique bedroom and the best bit is the view. You can see some of the valley through the tiny rectangular window. I love it.

My bedroom is small and rectangle. I have my bed on one side and my dressing table on the other. When I'm alone I constantly play video games.

If you were to look at my brother's room it's messy. LIKE REALLY MESSY! But when it comes to my bedroom it's tidy with clean and dirty clothes on the side. But it's clean and refreshing after a long day of work. I  like to lie there and take in the fragrances from the plants outside. I love my small unique bedroom and I am very lucky to have it. It's  definitely the best room in the house.

Holy Week Wreath

last week was holy week.Holy week is the time we remeber when jesus died on the cross.We made a wreath for holy week first we had to coloer in the little pictures the we have to made a circle with a bowl After that we had to cut out the circle and glue the pictures to the circle but we had to make sure that they were spaced out for the words and the little sayings and storys.Then we had to make a flip grid of say the little texteds on the wreath .Then we got to take a selfie was really fun cheeck it out now!

 

Goal setting

Goal setting.last week room two had to set four goals a Religious Education Goal,Social Goal, Learning Disposition Goal and Academic Goal It was a little challging diciding what my religes goal was but It wasnt really that hard.

Horota Animaton

For the past four days we have been learning about the horouta waka that sailed to New Zealand .The horouta waka had five people on it they were:paoa,kiwa,Hinehākirirangi,hineakua and kahuanui.I would carry on telling you about them but I don't want to spoil the story from the animation .Back to the learning stuff.This took me long AS to add the backgrounds remove the background images and recolour every thing.And when your doing this to 29 slides It makes you go crazy.but it was fun making the animation of the boat sailing to New Zealand.Anyway here is my animation.Matewa!    

We Made Whale Art!

 Hi! today we made whale art.We made this art for Sea week! This is a late post but its here now and check out my other sea week post on blue marlins.This took a long time to make even though it doesn't look that hard is was really hard to draw the out line of the whale.

First of we had to read a book about seven whales.not the tomorrow but the next day we started to practice our water colours we made little circles and used different color for each circle.Then the teacher gave us each a double sided piece on paper with too different whales on them .We had to choose which whale we were doing before we got to draw the whale.Then after we had Practised a bit we got to do our real one mine turned out ok but have a look at it.

We made hot cross buns/collage

Today we made Hot cross buns for easter.We made them because easter is the day jesus died.He had hot cross bun at his last supper.

Sea Week Poster

 This week/Sea week we had to make a poster but not any old poster we had to make one about a certain sea creacher Mine was a blue marlin.We had to Reachech ten facts and write what they eat on the slide below.My favourite bit was when we could design the front page. The hardest bit was finding facts  and putting them into your own words.Next time I would not chose a blue marlin they are very hard to research about.

St Patricks day poster

 WARNING before you look at my blog post It has swords ,magpies and Leprechauns involved.This week we the day before St Patrick's day we made a poster we had to add 5-8 facts about St patrick's day and some images of st patrick's day stuff.I enjoyed creating little images.It was hard to find facts and get it all to fit on the page.
